Research

Banyan House frequently participates in research projects.

For example:

Implementing best practice in evaluation in AOD rehabilitation agencies

(Dr. Richard Chenhall, Menzies School of Health)

This research project was conducted in rehabilitation agencies across New South Wales, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory. It aimed to examine how residential treatment programs and therapeutic communities provide their services. The researchers focused on making program evaluations more relevant to the residents’ experiences, thereby improving service delivery.
For Banyan House, the project involved implementing a client assessment inventory specifically designed for use in a therapeutic community. This inventory measures clients’ progress through treatment. The analysis of inventory data also provides feedback on the effectiveness of various elements of the rehabilitation program.
