A safe, structured path to recovery

A supportive community with clear guidelines to help you overcome addiction.

Living in a Therapeutic Community

A Therapeutic Community (TC) is a structured, supportive environment where individuals work together to address their challenges with drug and alcohol addiction. The goal is to provide a safe space for personal recovery and growth.

At Banyan House, we prioritise maintaining a structured and supportive environment. To achieve this, residents are expected to follow specific rules and guidelines designed to protect the rights of all members of the community.

Upon entering our programs, residents are provided with the following documents:

  • Rights and Responsibilities: This document outlines the rights of residents within Banyan House and their associated responsibilities.
  • Major Rules of Residency: Breaching these rules may lead to immediate removal from the program. Major rules include remaining drug and alcohol-free, respecting community guidelines (no violence, threats, gambling, dishonesty, criminal activity, or inappropriate sexual conduct with other residents), and staying within the premises without permission.
  • Community Guidelines: These set the standard for acceptable behaviour within the community, with clear consequences for any violations.
